The Changing Skyline...

Portland VA Hospital sits high above the city, and the Willamette River, along with OHSU's hospital and the Children's Hospital. This morning, everything below was shrouded in thick fog, and I was reminded of that Stephen King novella, The Mist. It appeared there was nothing else out there but the hill here...distant low clouds even cloaked the distant range of hills and mountains to the east. The fog is receding now, but what remains looks hazy and brown, beneath the blue sky. If I didn't know better, I'd think I was looking across the greater Los Angeles-Orange County sprawl, with its terrible smog.
