A Long Day...

I've battled a nasty base-of-the-skull headache off-and-on all day. Its made for a long, tiring day. At the same time, I put together a very tasty California Rancho- and Tex-Mex-inspired dinner, which sparked a bit of homesickness for So Cal and San Antonio. All-in-all, I'm glad this day is about over, though I'm not particularly motivated to go to work tomorrow morning.

Tonight was my first time using mesquite hardwood charcoal. It burns very hot, and in the beginning it was throwing off huge quantities of sparks, like my own little fireworks show, or hundreds of faerie lights shooting out into the chill night air.
