Three Days Done!...
I finished this round of work...three relentlessly slow days. The first two were spent, almost in their entirety, watching one patient. Mostly he slept, until yesterday afternoon, when he was getting antsy. Problem was, if he got up he was going to go down. Hard. But mostly he slept. And that kind of sitting makes me tired. Don't get me wrong...I'm grateful for the rest my back got this time around. Earlier in the week my back was feeling some strain. It still leaves me fatigued. Today was better. Work was still sloooooow - Super Bowl Sunday after all - the docs are human, they want to be off too. But I didn't have to sit. I worked on the supply carts, which have to have expiration dates checked monthly. That also enabled me to sit and email, surf the net, etc. We were having a potluck...I ended up cooking the brats and sauteing some onions, and some hot dogs. I had a brat with sauerkraut and Russian mustard, and a hot dog with caramelized onions and chipotle spread. And a big yummy chocolate chip cookie. I really could care less about the Super Bowl itself. The slow pace was good, though. I'm home, which I'm quite happy about. I have the next two days off! And now I have to go eat a big bacon, egg and cheese burrito. Ciao...
