Treasure!...
An amateur treasure hunter, Terry Herbert, recently found the largest hoard of Anglo-Saxon treasure ever discovered in the U.K. Dating to the 7th century Anglo-Saxon kingdom of Mercia, in what is now Staffordshire, the hoard is expected to revolutionize our views of the Anglo-Saxons. Total number of objects is believed to be about 1,500, including some 650 gold artifacts totalling some 5 kilos, 530 silver items with a weight of over 1 kilo, plus some copper alloy, garnets, enamel and glass.
